Wounds that do not heal – changing landscapes of cities, as well as changing every person under the onslaught of the chaos of war. The time we had to live in was too destructive, painful, unbearable. Chaos absorbs everything: life, future, happiness. Death enters our lives and becomes commonplace. Wounds do not heal, do not have time. They “sew up”, hide in the twilight of the soul to bleed quietly there.
Our cities protect our wounds. We put “hedgehogs” in the most vulnerable places, where there is a “cut”, like in an embroidered shirt – the place where the cloth is cut off should be protected by an ornament. It serves as a talisman because of the embroidered symbol, we pray the place of the cut so that evil spirits do not harm the body… the body-city.
We weave new military ornaments not in embroidery, but in cities. Because we are defending not only ourselves, but our statehood, our nation. We are weaving our pain, our wounds into the landscape of the city, we are speaking a great sadness that cannot be healed for centuries.
