This series explores forced migration through allegory. The “Old Forest” becomes a metaphor for a world untouched by immediate catastrophe — a space where history feels distant, muted, almost unreal, maintaining an illusion of stability.
Within this space, displaced people appear as ghosts. Separated from their home, they exist between past and present — present, yet not fully visible; alive, yet not fully recognized.
This ghostliness becomes a condition of loss: of voice, weight, and belonging. The body remains, but its presence becomes uncertain.
The series asks: when does distant violence become a shared reality? And can the ghost regain a body — becoming visible again as a human being with memory, grief, and life.
